Owt is in public preview. Read section 7

These terms cover your use of Owt (the "app"). By using it, you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use the app.

1. What Owt is

Owt helps you discover public events happening near you in South Africa, including concerts, parties, markets, and more. We source event listings from third-party ticketing platforms (currently Quicket) and display them on a map with search and filters.

2. We're a discovery layer, not the seller

Owt does not sell tickets, process payments, or organize the events it lists. When you tap "Get tickets," you leave Owt and complete your purchase directly on Quicket's platform, under Quicket's own terms. Any issue with a ticket purchase, refund, or event cancellation is between you, the organizer, and Quicket. Owt isn't a party to that transaction and can't resolve it on your behalf.

3. Accuracy of listings

Event details (times, prices, availability, venue) are pulled from Quicket's API and refreshed regularly, but we can't guarantee they're always current. Organizers sometimes update details faster than our sync catches them. Always confirm details on the ticket page before you travel.

4. Ride-cost estimates

Any ride-cost figure shown in the app is a rough, non-live estimate for planning purposes only. It isn't sourced from Uber, Bolt, or any ride provider in real time, and Owt has no partnership with a ride provider today. Don't treat it as a quote.

5. Our mascot

Owt's animated mascot, Groov, is a decorative, scripted character. It's not a chatbot, not AI, and not a support channel. It doesn't read, understand, or respond to anything; its greeting is a fixed, pre-written line shown the same way to everyone, not a real conversation. If you need help, contact us directly using the details in section 13.

6. "Top events near you"

The events shown in "Top events near you" are chosen at random from that day's listings for your city, narrowed only by two fixed rules: we exclude Quicket's uncurated "Other" category, and we require a photo. Selection isn't personalized. No profile, account, location history, or browsing data is used to choose it, and every visitor sees the same picks for the same city on the same day. The list is reshuffled once daily, not on every visit.

7. Accounts and your profile

Creating an account is optional. If you don't, the Profile, Interested, and Recently Viewed features save data only to your own device's local storage, and we're not responsible for data lost when you clear your browser or switch devices. If you do sign up, you're responsible for keeping your password confidential and for anything that happens under your account. Let us know at the address below if you suspect it's been compromised. 8. Acceptable use

You agree not to: scrape or bulk-extract data from the app or its API beyond normal use; attempt to bypass rate limits or security controls; use the app to harass, defraud, or impersonate; or interfere with the service's normal operation.

9. Provided "as is" (public preview)

Owt is under active development and offered as a free public preview. Features may change, break, or be removed without notice, and we don't guarantee uptime. The app is provided "as is," without warranties of any kind, to the fullest extent permitted by law.

10. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Owt and its operator aren't liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the app, including missed events, inaccurate listings, or third-party ticketing issues.

11. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as the app evolves. The "last updated" date above will always reflect the current version.

12. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of South Africa.
