FAQ

Quick answers, especially around tickets. Can't find yours? Email us at the bottom of this page.

Tickets & payments

How do I actually buy a ticket?

Tap an event, then "Get tickets." That takes you to Quicket, the platform that actually sells the ticket — you'll finish your purchase there, not inside Owt.

Does Owt handle my payment?

No. Owt never sees your card details or processes any payment. We only show you what's on and link out to Quicket, who runs the actual checkout.

I want a refund, or my ticket didn't arrive — can you help?

That has to go through Quicket directly — they're the seller, so they're the only ones who can actually see your order and act on it. Owt isn't able to look up or refund a Quicket purchase.

Why did the price change between Owt and checkout?

The price on an event card is the cheapest available ticket tier at the time we last synced. Quicket may have multiple tiers, booking fees, or updated pricing — the final price is always whatever Quicket shows you at checkout.

An event says "Sold out" — is that accurate?

It reflects what Quicket reported the last time we synced (events refresh roughly hourly). If it changed very recently, Quicket's own page is the source of truth — worth double-checking there before assuming it's gone for good.

Events & listings

How often does the event list update?

Roughly every hour. New events, sold-out status, and price changes on Quicket's side can take up to an hour to show up here.

An event's details look wrong or outdated

Event info (time, venue, price) comes straight from Quicket's listing, set by the organizer. If something looks off, it's usually either sync lag (see above) or an organizer error on Quicket's side — the ticket page there is always the most current version.

What do the pin icons mean?

Each category has its own icon and color, and pins vary within a category based on what the event actually is (a gig gets a different icon than a comedy night, even though both are "Live"). Tap the ? button on the map for the full legend.

What does the number on some pins mean?

That's a cluster — several nearby events grouped into one bubble so the map doesn't get cluttered. Tap it to see and pick from everything inside.

Why can't I find any events?

Owt is South Africa-only for now, so outside SA you'll see nothing nearby — try switching to a named city instead. Inside SA, it can just mean nothing upcoming matches your current filters; try clearing them from the Filters button.

Location & privacy

Why does Owt ask for my location?

Purely to find events near you for "Near me" search. It's sent for that one request and isn't logged or stored — see the Privacy Policy for the full details.

Do I need to create an account?

No — everything works as a guest, no signup required. Sign up if you want your profile and saved events to follow you across devices; skip it and Owt still works the same, it just saves your profile and saved events to this device only.

I lost my saved profile / interested events

If you're signed in, nothing's lost — just sign back in and your profile and saved events sync right back. If you were browsing as a guest, that data only ever lived in that one browser's local storage, so clearing your browser data, switching phones, or using a different browser will lose it — sign up to avoid that next time.

Everything else

Is Owt free?

Yes, completely — no subscription, no in-app purchases. We just link you to Quicket for the events themselves.

Is the ride-cost estimate a real price?

No — it's a rough, non-live estimate for planning purposes, not a quote from Uber, Bolt, or anyone else. Owt has no ride-provider partnership today.

Is there a native iOS/Android app?

Not yet — Owt is currently a mobile web app. Add it to your home screen from your browser's menu for something close to an app icon and full-screen feel.
